We'll be on the road in a few days time and will take it in turns to give updates as often as possible.
Our first leg is a quick 3000 km inland journey to Cairns with overnight stops in Forbes, Lightning Ridge, Canarvon Gorge, and Charters Towers. This first leg is about getting us quickly to Cairns before the tropical season hits.
Our rough plan for leg two is to spend 10 weeks making our way down the east coast visiting as many beach spots, 4wd tracks and sandy islands we can... and of course theme parks in Queensland.
After the east coast we'll be back home for January. Just an outline at this stage, things will change as we follow the weather and local advice.
