Today we took a day trip out to Garwin, about an hours drive southwest of Lightening Ridge. A tip from a fellow camper told us this was the best place to noodle around the tailing pits. Given we've explored Lightening ridge on a previous trip, we fueled up and head out across the red scrubby landscape. Close to Garwin we stopped at the log cabin style "club in the scrub" for a beer and a game of pool.
After some semi successful noodling we headed back to Lightening ridge township, checked out John Murray's art gallery then cooled off in the pool. Seriously hot today with the temperatures hitting 37 degrees. Tomorrow will be a rest day, nothing planned but relaxing by the pool.
