Day 2 - Tocomwul

Ok so our road trip isn't sticking to the plan... But that's kinda the idea 😏

We arrived in Tocomwul for a short lunch stop. We spotted a large model glider over the visitor center and I wondered if we could take a flight in a real one. I've been wanting to take Em and the boys gliding for years, but never managed to line up the time and place. Ideal conditions are sunny skies with puffy white clouds - and this is exactly the weather for today and tomorrow. After several phone calls and conversations with locals at the aerodrome, we were phoned by a German gentleman introducing himself as Ingo Renner. After discussing details I asked him how long he'd been gliding. Ingo tells me he has 60 years experience.... um so how are you??? (I didn't ask of course!)  So Em googles Ingo after we'd arranged flights for tomorrow... turns out he's the Michael Jordan of gliding with 4 world championships, countless Australian titles and is the undisputed ace of Australian gliding. Despite his age I think we'll be in good hands.

So all that's left to do is find a nice camp spot. We found this free camping spot on the river, set up and eventually figured out how to light the dam gas fridge (well done Em!). We cooled off in the river, then, over some cheese and sparkling, we yarned with neighbours and relaxed... cant wait for tomorrow (fingers crossed the weather remains).
